About National Education Society (NES)

During the Freedom struggle, Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation stressed the need for quality rural education and development of women education and urged the leaders and youth to help in promoting it. Senior Freedom fighters and public of Shimoga were first to respond to the call of Mahatma. In 1946 they set up the National education society at Shimoga which is the important place of Malnad Area of Western Ghat Region in the Country which is endowed with rich and enchanting grace of Nature.

The Society with the zeal dedication of senior leaders of the district like Mr. S.V.Krishna Murthy Rao, former deputy speaker of Loksabha, Mr.H.S.Rudrappa, Former Minister of Karnataka. Mr.P.Murudappa, Mr.R.K.Jayatheerthachar and Mr.S.Narasimha Murthy senior Advocates, Mr.S.R.Nagappa Shrestty, Ex-MLA and a great social worker and others strived hard to build the institution as founders to achieve the aspirations of Mahatma. The society started independently Managed High School in the district during 1946 and constructed its own building with public assistance. With a view to give thrust towards girl’s education NES opened the first Girl’s High School in the district in 1954 and gradually opened educational institutions in rural areas of the district to cater the needs of rural people.

About National Residential School

National Residential School is managed by the National Education Society(Regd) Shivamogga. The School is born with a vision to support and promote advancement of educational activities for the benefit to students of both rural and urban areas. The objective of the school is to provide an education that will build up national unity and shape the students patriotic and responsible citizens. This is anEnglish Medium, Co-Educational Institution sponsored by the National Education Society (R.) Shivamogga with the kind co-operation and the support of the parents, guardians and well-wishers. The school stands as a unique Institution. To make use of state of the art equipment, qualified and trained faculty and excellent infrastructure facilities and to promote excellence and quality in all that we do.

About National (IND) PU Science Residential college

The college was established in the year 2000 with a vision to promote and support science education to the students of the rural area. The objective of the college is to provides an education, which shapes the future of the students.

The college prepares students for Karnataka State P.U. Board Examinationn. The P.U. course is recognised by Pre University Board of Karnataka State. It offers the students science education in P C M B and P C M C combinations. Institution offers Intensive Coaching Classes for competitive Examinationns such as CET, NEET, JEE etc..,

Facilities

HOSTEL FACILITY

The school has hostel facility with different wings for boys and girls. Students live in spacious, well ventilated, comfortable dormitories. Students are provided lockers, bed, bedspread and pillows. The house masters who give necessary guidance in the development of students personality, supervise the activities of the students.

LABORATORIES

Well-equipped Laboratories have been setup for science subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. The students are allowed to have the science practical individually from Class-7 onwards. Practicals done by students are supervised carefully by the faculty members.

COMPUTER EDUCATION

Computer Education is being given with due emphasis in the curriculum. The Computer Education is provided from class 1. The computer laboratory is well equipped to expose students to CDROM, Computer games, programming and graphics. The students are exposed to professional skills as a hobby and are engaged in useful projects. Internet facility is provided to staff and students.

DIGITAL CLASSROOM

A provision of modern technology based classrooms (smart class) for children from class 1st to PU enables pictorial analysationand experimental observations making learning fun and easy to grasp for children. This enriches the interest towards all subjects and promotes analytical skills.

CONVEYANCE FACILITY

The School provides a safe conveyance facility. Students are picked up from a spot near to their residence and given a drop to the same spot after school hours. School buses ply from various directions i.e, Thirthahalli, Ripponpet, Nonabur etc.,

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

Workshops and Seminars are conducted for faculty and students. Eminent Resource Persons are invited to conduct it.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Students are given training in athletics, games, karate and yoga. Our students are provided with opportunities to participate in competitions at various levels. Training in Mass Physical Training and Yoga are given. There are opportunities to learn light music, bhajans, classical music, classical dance, conducting competition of drawing, painting, paper craft, chess, abacus etc.. Institution organises periodical workshops for students by eminent resource persons.

MID DAY MEAL

A well balanced and nourishing vegetarian diet is provided to the students in the Mid-day meals, Milk and biscuits are provided to K.G students for snacks. The staff members carefully supervise the programme.

MEDICAL FACILITY

The school has its own arrangement for medical checkup of students. In case of emergency the patient will be taken to the Hospital. In such adversities intimation will be given to their parents.

TUCK

Parents are requested not to bring any tuck (Snack pack/eatables) for their children in the hostel. Similarly, students too, are not allowed to possess any eatables in their rooms. Eatables and sweets will be provided in the school itself in a balanced diet.

ABOUT ICSE Education

ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) is known for its comprehensive syllabus and primarily focus on English language and variety of subjects that it offers involving language, arts, commerce and science.
